2009年5月1-2日於世貿三館首次登場的威士忌博覽會，是2009年威士忌業界華人地區的最大盛事，WhiskyLIVE首次正式進入台灣市場，成為WhiskyLIVE巡迴各國際大都市的第12站。在一片不景氣中，二天共吸引了8,418人次參與盛會，讓此次參與盛會的廠商開心不已，而台灣威士忌愛好者的熱情與求知若渴的態度，更是讓與會的國外威士忌大師們印象深刻，直呼WhiskyLIVE 2009 Taipei比倫敦更棒更能激發出釀酒人的熱情！其中更特別的是參與者中有許多35歲以下的年輕飲用者與年輕女性的參與，讓酒商們相當振奮，深深感到台灣威士忌市潛力無限！
以烈酒占台灣酒品市場百分之八十的銷售，而威士忌銷售獨占其中百分之四十，不難看出國人對威士忌醇酒的愛好程度, 台灣已然是全球各大酒商的兵家必爭之地。2010年為了因應其他烈酒廠商的需求，WhiskyLIVE將會擴大舉行，除威士忌之外，也加入Fine Spirits等其他高級烈酒，讓更多元化的烈酒與消費者互動，讓消費者認識與了解更多酒類有趣的事情，期望明年能吸引更多消費者參觀。
以台灣消費者對酒品的消費力，潛在市場的開發將成為必要的課題。如何激發台灣對威士忌以及其他烈酒的愛好?如何正確的品味烈酒?一般民眾是否知道搭配食物更能提升烈酒的香醇口感，或是威士忌即便調成雞尾酒亦不失原有的芳醇風味呢?
在各界的引頸期盼下，第二屆的WhiskyLIVE將於2010年8月28-29日再度舉辦，這個每年一次的烈酒品飲盛會，將針對全球最佳的威士忌、白蘭地、伏特加、萊姆酒、龍舌蘭、琴酒等烈酒酒品展出，有是一般消費者與全球蒸餾廠和酒商歡聚一堂的年度盛會。WhsikyLIVE & Fine Spirits將會以歡樂、輕鬆及美好的氛圍，邀請您體驗，並ㄧ同前往威士忌與烈酒的殿堂朝聖。
WhiskyLIVE Taipei 2009 took place in Taipei World Trade Center Hall 3 in May 2009 the very first time was a real success and the biggest event of Chinese whisk(e)y market of 2009. Within the two days event WhiskyLIVE Taipei attracts 8,418 visitors and among them there are many under 35-year-old youths and young ladies which brought more potentials to the Taiwanese market. Whisk(e)y masters from all over the world who witness this great event were amazed by the enthusiastic and mature whisk(e)y consumption attitude of Taiwanese consumers. Taiwan’s status as an established and progressive market for whisk(e)y has taken the drinks industry by storm. Among the overall liquor and spirits market, whisky has become the favourite of the Taiwanese, accounting for 85 % market share with 40% of total whisky sales being pure malts.
Provisional figures from the Scotch Whisky Association convey Scotch whisky exports to Taiwan in the first half of 2008 were encouraging, with the value of exports up 11% compared to the same period in 2007. Although the figure excludes American, Canadian, Irish or Japanese whisk(e)y, Taiwan’s appetite for premium sprits re-establishes its presence as being an established top 10 whisky consumer on a global basis.
What other options and opportunities are available to raise the awareness of whisky in Taiwan? What is the right way to enjoy whisky? Are people aware that whiskies can work well with food, or that they can be mixed as cocktails without losing their intrinsic character?

These tutored tastings provide a unique insight into the world of whisky and your chance to ask all those hidden questions.
